I want a loupe to see the blade edge to improve sharpening. I am looking at Bausch & Lomb and Belomo in 10X and 15X. I would appreciate any recommendations for these or a better choice than these.

I have and use an inexpensive loupe enclosed in a metal holder and it works quite well. I got it at a local gun show in Syracuse NY. The glass loupes work best and most important is the lighting in the room.

I have several loupes and the Bausch & Lomb are excellent. I wouldn't go any higher than 10X.

I've found a lighted loupe to be essential. Otherwise my hand, head, or body blocks ambient light and I can't see the edge of the blade well. I've got a cheap-ish loupe from Amazon that works just fine for edge inspection. It's a 10X and a "triplet". I think that means it has 3 lens elements and is optically more true. For the less than $15 I paid for it, it's an enormous bargain. The loupe REALLY showed me some things I was doing wrong and allowed me to see my progress in a way I hadn't before. Fantastic tool for evaluating and improving your sharpening.

I just got a cheapy on Amazon for like $6 plus shipping. It's a lighted 60X some no name brand. But it works great. It's my first one so I can not compare it to better ones. So far so good, I'll see how long this one holds up.

I have a 15x lighted loupe from Lee Valley that I've been happy with. Gives me a good view of the edge, has solid construction, and uses 3 AAA cells.

Belomo 15x and 10x for me.
No problems with either.
I would recommend 10x for starters.

On amazon I found an assortment of sizes.

10x to 60x. Little LED lights are very handy too, I can carefully hold camera into optic for picture of magnified edge.
