Met my old squadron mate "Wheels" for lunch the other day, and made the mistake of letting him handle my 15" AK made by young Shanker. Wheeler's jaw dropped and he got this glassy eyed look that was rather unnerving standing in an "El Chico's" parking lot. After a few seconds had ticked by he quietly exclaimed, "this is it, this is perfect, this is just exactly what I need a khukuri to be".

Sooo, there'll be a bit of "horse trading", something about a BAS and some fresh pork sausage.:D The boy liked that AK so much I'd have just given it to him straight out, but what the heck, that would spoil the fun.;)

Yup, if'n ya didn't get a bit of funnin' out of it, you'd have to break down and admit you're an old softie and a sucker for a story with a happy ending.

Bet when time comes to swap for the BAS and the sausage, you'll keep a straight face til driving away and then have to keep wipin' the tears from your eyes and honk your nose like the horn of a freight train.

I keep meaning to get a bound blank book and write moments that I've done stuff like that down so's I can remember the good things I've done when I'm down and don't feel worth a plugged wooden nickel, but I keep forgettin' it. I figure someone up there will do the remembering for me when the time comes.;)

You sure do good job of word slinging once in a while. I wish the general public could just a bit understand what kind of people have collected themselves around the Cantina and the HI organization. Hopefully it would be an awakening. :)

Thank you, Pappy. I really mean that.

Some of this forum is just plain fun, or educational, but some of it comes right from the heart. I've been around long enough to know that when Bill calls me a brother, that's how he feels about me. And he does care about those kamis back in Nepal.

What you see on this forum is what you get. And that is why it's so important to me, and others. There're good people here, and hanging with good folks helps remind and make me and you the better for doing so.

I have given away a number of khuks. I don't know what feels better, getting a new khuk or giving one away. Giving one to someone who appreciates it they way you do is the best. I would like to get some sausage for one sometime though.;)

Rusty, there's some of us down here that won't forget.
