Love for my Recluse (and yours too!)

Last time I left for work overseas, I only took my KE Bushie and my Bushfinger. I just got back and put my hands back on my Recluse which is in classic 'tuxedo' A2 steel, tapered 5/32"

Now I've taken a real liking to 1/8" blades for their increased slicing ability but despite the slightly thicker stock my Recluse seemed to slice with the best of them today. I put it to work this afternoon but failed to take any photos, stropped her up and took a couple of phone shots but can't seem to upload them at the moment(?).

Just felt compelled to share some enjoyment of using an FF all afternoon...

...Very keen to put my hands on my Bushnub in tapered 5/32", KE Bushie in tapered 1/8th and my Monarch in tapered 1/8th this evening when I pick them up!!!

Cheers all,

Ben

The Recluse is one of my favorites, along with the Leukku. Like most other Fiddlebacks, the design is simple and incredibly usable!

I can understand your love for the knife. I had one just like it and still miss it now and then. Even though now I have a 3/16 tapered that is more suited to me, that one was my first Recluse and always has a place in my heart.

I have a bunch of different Fiddlebacks, but Recluse is the only model of which I have two different knives. Both of mine are 1/8", and if I can find one that I like in 5/32" I will buy it. Andy makes a lot of knifes that can "do it all," and IMHO the Recluse is one of the best.

Scotcha, your Recluse is an absolutely stunning example of Andy's work.

One of my favorites and probably my most carried fixed blade (S35VN 5/32")

I was lucky enough to be able to obtain the 5/32" that Brian shows above from him. I carry it almost every weekend in a Heber natural sheath. What a useful and versatile knife.

I think a Recluse will probably be my next Fiddleback knife. It'll have to be a special one though.

As much as I love the Recluse, I just might live the Patch a little more. :)

Edit to add patch

LOL! Thanks for enabling me.

I actually struggled with the last one (5/32" A2 Canarywood, trinity and tapered). It was really similar to the marble wood one that I had, and I felt like my money could be better invested with another model. However, after 24 hours I could not get the canary wood one out of my head and decided to just go for it. I can always sell the marble wood one if they are too similar, but letting someone else get the canary wood one just was not an option for me.

Nice Recluses everyone.
I just got my first this Friday. After having a Leuku and Patch...figured it was only right to complete the family. :)
I love it! Feels real good in hand.
