Well, its been about a week since I got the latest from Dave. Ordered on a Wednesday and the package was in my hands on Saturday. No idea how he does it but his elves were working overtime. Anyway, I have been pining for a bigger blade quite a while now and finally decided on a ZT 0200KW. I feared it would be too big and heavy to carry daily, glad I was wrong. Its a beast of a knife and very smooth opening. It flies open. I have not carried anything for a week, which pains me since I also received a JYD II 1735CB and a Zing 1735TBLK. Neither of which have had any real pocket time yet. Even worse, I finally picked up some other acquisitions.

Back to the 0200, it really carries well. The only down side is the liner lock is stiff and a bit rough, also is a bit sticky at times. Did the permanent marker trick and it helped. Barely used the knife yet except for some gardening and to open my daughter's gift. I am sorry I hesitated for so long. It is super smooth and is quite comfortable in the hand. Once the liner lock eases up a bit, it will be damn near perfect. Only downside to its size is around none knife folks. They'll get over it. Now on to the pics.

I was quite surprised by the overall size of the JYDII, its nearly the same as the 0200 but has considerably less cutting edge. I will be modding the JYD with a choil me thinks.

While the 0200 and the JYD are similar in lenth, the thickness goes to the ZT. It almost looks like a Leek could fit between the liners (it can't...)

The Zing is such a great little knife too, its just so cute compared to the other two

Need to do something about the batwing on the JYD. Not for me, something else to change. Somehow I will find a way to drill and tap for tip up carry

Thank you sir!

I should also mention these are also my first non-assisted flippers from KAI. Can't say I am a convert but these sure are nice. Funny how you get a few new toys and before the stink is even off your hands you want a few more. Must resist...too late

I want a zt 0200 as well, and I'm waiting on kershaw guy to email me back. How smoothly does it open compared to say, a skyline?

Don't own a Skyline, only handled one. Wasn't what I hoped it to be but then again, I only flicked it open a few times. Besides, I don't think you can compare a 0200 to a Skyline with the ZT being around 8 oz. Once you get past the detent, the blade just flies open. Its really smooth, I can open without flicking the wrist at all. I can't say that about the Zing, at least while using the flipper. I will say the Junk Yard Dog is just a tad smoother though.

On which? I did adjust the pivot on all three, just trying to find the sweet spot :) Now that I think of it, I really regret not picking up the Skyline. It was an orange one too. Just seemed too light for me. I am shaking my head at myself as I type this

I personally love my orange one. After I polished up the blade, liner, pivot and clip it's even better! I wish they made the 0200 in orange with the black blade...

I have a 0200 and a couple skylines and some other smaller Kershaw flippers.

Comparing the smaller flippers to something like the 0200 (or 056X, 055x) is hard because the blade weights are so different. The large heavy blade on the 0200 takes a little different technique than smaller blades like the Skylines. The 0200 technique is slower and has larger gestures. If the 0200 pivot is adjusted/broken in just right and you get good finger action the blade will swing out without any wrist.

Smaller blades can deploy with just the right finger pressure on the flipper too. Sometimes they need more of snap, especially when new or if the pivot is a little tight, but a little wrist snap usually overcomes that. I fond that in general the smaller blades need snappier, shorter and quicker wrist action.

Frankly I would say that my 0200 has the smoothest deployment action of any flipper I own. The 0560 is nice but it can be a little sticky.
