Just got back from a backpacking trip with an old friend, we have been talking blades a lot lately an were stoked to do some chopping, batoning ect.. My buddy Mike is a big Chris Reeve fan an has always bragged about how his Green Beret is the best survival blade on earth. I have wanted a Busse since 2006 but just got my first few months ago. so we get up in the high uintas an the trash talk begins :) he started chopping away at a small log with his knife and so I dig through my bag an out comes the new TGLB. the second I started chopping it was obvious how much better the Busse was chopping.. he eventually asked to try out my knife, he tried to play it down but he obviously liked the Busse ...a lot. when I tried the GB it felt to blade light and the handle felt jagged. he actually got frustrated when he realized his had lost its edge after the day of chopping but there seemed to be no change in the TGLB edge. its been a week now an he has his eye on a rodent 9...good for him :)

The TGLB is a great knife,I have a couple & really like the guard since it gives many grip options.
Yes, Busse's are very good blades that "Walk the Walk" & prove themselves.
Enjoy & provide Pic's...

I've owned both the TGLB and the Cr green beret, the TGLB is a much better all around knife, the Green Beret a quicker people sticker. Both have there good points. As a survival knife the TGLB outshines the Green Beret though.

I'm a CRK guy, and I've held a few of the fixed knives, but they just don't have that 'feel' like the folders they make.

Having 1 busse already, what a gorgeous knife. I think busse nailed it with the fixed knives, however if busse made a folder, I'd probably stick with crk haha.

TGLB is an instant classic; such a great all around blade. I absolutely love mine! Good to hear that you are enjoying yours.

Great to hear. My first Busse was a Basic 9. I took it camping and beat the snot out of it splitting firewood and it just blew me away. Been hooked ever since.

Just a friendly observation, but how can you say if Busse came out with a folder that you would stay with a CRK? Wouldn't you have to test the knife out before reaching that conclusion? Just sayin?

Well IMO CRK has many years already into folders, they have a head start.

Not saying busse wouldn't make a quality folder, I'd personally would wait until they got it just right.

USING a Busse knife is the best way to get attached to em. Beat that sucker up - it can take it...and laugh at you, and taunt you for more!

That's awesome! You chose a great Busse to go on your trip with. The TGLB never quits! Congrats on your first Busse

Thanks everyone! ya I love this damn thing.. I feel like homer simpson when he got his gun, im using it for everything :) roasting mallows, flipin burgers, switchin light switches, chopping, shaving, reaching for the tv remote, scratching my back (carefully) ect... even my kids stuffed animals are mysteriously starting to go missing ...??

Yes You really have to use them to appreciate them. If your friend gets a rodent 9 he will love it. It's a beast of a knife.

Love it!! Mine can even slice a pizza :)

Cool Story! Wish we had pics to go along with it, but can understand why none were taken. Another enabler has been created.;)

rodent 9 is an awesome knife. I am surprised he isn't looking for a tglb?
