Santa brought me a black serrated Impulse for Christmas. It's incredible! Excellent knife for it's price point (well, it was free for me, but you know). As solid and well made as most folders twice it's cost.

Just thought I'd drop a note and say "Good job!"

I also received a black Impulse (plain edge) for Christmas & I'm in total agreement with Jon. It's got sleek lines, a real smooth action, can be opened "on the drop" or flipped (I know, not recommended

), and has a very solid lock-up. I am impressed.

Santa brought me a plain edge, uncoated Impulse as well. I am extremely impressed at the fit and finish. It is a fantastic design, hope to see more of Mr.Ralphs work in the future. Outdoor Edge did a great job at mass producing this fine design.

I received the black blade plain
edge.It is a great knife.probably
one of the best buys in the knife
world.I can't wait to see whats
next.

Darrel,

Any idea why OE wants to do that? If they keep at it with affordable quality knives like the Magna and the Impulse "Outdoor Edge" will really be a company to watch. In my humble opinion they should keep the collaborations under the Outdoor Edge name and take advantage of the existing momentum.

Jon,
At this point I will step out of the loop and have David explain. I do feel that folks will see some really awesome innovations in the near future from this company. David is a visionary . I feel he has seen the future of knife making industry. Yes!!!! Quality, design style, function and value for the dollar are still the main focus, with innovation thrown in for nice y2k kick off.
I like working with a winning company like this!

To Jon:

I have addressed this subject in Outdoor Edge's new forum topic "EdgeTech Mission Statement". Thank you for your attention as well as all of your possitive feedback on the Impulse.

As we say at Outdoor Edge, "As long as you're happy, We're happy!"

David,

Yes, the mission statement does clear it up. Excellent point about the online community's awareness of OE versus the general knife buying public.

Guess that's why you run a knife company and I don't!!!

Will the Magnas and Impulses change over to EdgeTech as well?

Jon

Yes, the Impulse and Magna will be marketed under ET.

The only physical changes to these models will be the addition of an EdgeTech lazer etching or tang stamp added to the blade.

Thank you for your attention.
