got my new 710 tody, awsome knife from first appearence. Have to admit it is larger than expected but feels awsome in the hand. Definatly a true BM classic. Have 3 bms now and i have to say im happy with every one (mini skirmish, 940 and this one). Each knife locks up tight and has no blade play. All my bms are users of course=)
Gonna take it to work today and test it out, ill repost after i get to do some cutting. I got the 710 plain edge d2 steel with the bk coating.

I love my mini skirmish too. You my want to try a 707 sequel if the 710 is to large. Lets see some pictures of them bad boys.

I think that the 710 is the best all-around knife Benchmade has to offer. It's really hard to beat at that price point also. Yours doesn't have play now, and it probably won't get it. Mine is pretty darn old now, and it is still solid.

I bet the TSEK is also very good, but they're hard to get ahold of.

I should be getting my 710 back from Benchmade any day now.:)

I picked up a 710 about a month and a half ago. Great folder !! Due to having a strangely-shaped thumb, I've been a diehard fan of the 804 AFCK II and the oval hole for many years now. Though it doesn't feel as "alive" in the hand as the 804, I like the balance of the 710 much better than the 806. I also find that for the same blade length, the 710 carries more easily in my right-front pocket than the 804 or the 806. For EDC, the 710 is now at the top of my list.

I got mine about a week and a half ago and fell in love as soon as I held it. Great knife, shaving sharp out of the box. Good choice.

710 at first look almost looked to me like a gentlemans knife. But when I looked at the construction and how the scales where bolted together and the axis lock and the long stabber blade, it's a total waepon. I love mine. BM 710 rocks

used my 710 at work today and it was freaking awsome. Felt perfect in my hand and cut throught the plastic like butter. I work at a garden center so i do a lot of unpacking and this is definatly going to be in my edc rotation for a long time=). Probably my favorite knife overall

I love my 710! So FUN!

Worst angle put on this knife out of any production I have ever bought. This D2 is obnoxious too when all I have are Spyderco Brown stones.

Edit: PARADOX! ^

If the 710 does get play, you just need to adjust the pivot screw. Another great thing about Benchmades is you can make some adjustments yourself. Also it will cut better if you thin the edge out a bit.

For the long stabber blade - a handle with a guard/choil similar to the MiniRukus or AFCK or Spyderco Manix would be much more appropriate for the stabbing/fighting knife because of security. Otherwise, for the 710, you need a strong Filipino grip.
