OMG! When I learned that these existed, I knew it wouldn't be long before I had one of my own. My EDC before this was a Kershaw Scallion, which is a great little knife, but the Case/Tony Bose Lockback Whittler collaboration knife absolutely rocks for a traditional folder.

The blades are ATS-34 and came razor sharp and crisp. Each blade pivots on a bushing; not just a pin. The master blade is almost 1/4"(.210") at the tang and mates up to an equally beafy lock that won't fail. It is 3 7/8" closed and fits nicely in my right-front pocket thankyouverymuch :p

It's a great knife, Kerry! You are a lucky man!!

Wow! Where'd you find that beauty?
Nice pics, too.

It's a funny story actually. I'm pretty new to knife collecting but I'm also interested in knifemaking. I bought the Best Knives of 2006 book and there is a list of knifemakers by state in the back of it. I was pretty happy when I found not one but two who lived less than 10 miles from my home.

I google searched their names and found them listed in Knifetalkforums.com. Anyway, I called and introduced myself and said I am interested in knifemaking and could I come and visit. He said sure and at some point asked me what I did for a living and I told him I'm a computer geek. He asked if I could fix his because it was broke:)

Long story short, I got the knife from Mr. Bose and his computer is working just fine now. True story.

BTW...ya'll make sure you have a good firewall and anti-virus software working properly. :D

Congrats. You killed a lot of "birds".

1. By far that is the best made Case/Bose Collab. They are all nice, but the whittler is the best finished knife of all the collabs.

2. You got to spend time with the modern day multiblade guru and a very nice man.

Not bad at all! Congrats Kerry and thanks for getting Tony's machine up to snuff!

Jealous doesn't begin to describe- - - -direct from Tony B????
The designer of said knife?? One of the greatest slippy sloppers of all time????
There's one for the grandkids!

Yep, that one. I consider him a local, if not national, treasure and he is one heck of a great guy to talk with about knives.

Oh yea...I'm more dangerous than the avian flu.:D

It's a great knife for sure. I got to handle the other collab. knives and they are all great knives. I fell in love with the design of this one though before I actually got to hold one. Tony just happened to have two and I bought one of them. I'm still in shock

All of the Case/Bose collaborations are  (cept the Cotton Sampler :p ).

Very nice knife, and very cool story.

I just went to my favorite multiblade site and they indeed have them.

In stag as well......:D

search works, found this rather dated thread while looking for info regarding
the Bose/Case Whittler.

Nice tale there Kerry and as nice a knife too as you could ask for!
Still searching for mine, I did get in a bulldog brand, made by Queen that
is similar in shape and blades, but not locking and just a tad shorter, but
a lovely looking knife, I can imagine that one is very much the nicer!!!
I had to do a ton of sharpening to get this one up to snuff but she be sharp now
will post a thread on this one later.

Thanks for sharing the story and images!
Happy New Years to you!

It's my favorite non-custom knife (yes I know it's considered a semi custom). Built like a tank if you ask me.

That main blade spine at the pivot is almost a 1/4" ? WOW
that is one tuff rascal, this bulldog I have is half that thick!
hmm....

Great looking knife and one of my favorite patterns. I love the fact that it locks.
