Received my medium wallet in dark coffee and I am completely impressed. This is a beautiful piece of leather and something I know that I will own and enjoy for the rest of my life. Thank you Saddleback!

I have a question regarding the leather. It feels and looks really dry and has lost the smoothness that it initially had. I know that we are told that we should wait 6 to 12 months to condition the leather, but mine seems like it needs it now. I've only had it about two weeks, so should I wait until it breaks in more? Will it regain some of that luster as it wears? I would post pictures but I don't have a camera right now. Any suggestions would be helpful and appreciated. Thanks!

Before we ship out any products we condition them with Chamberlains Leather Milk. We think it is the best stuff out there. Here is a link to their website (http://leather-milk.com/) and you can send them an email on conditioning and cleaning your wallet. Welcome to the Saddleback Family!

One doesn't have to 'always' do what they're told. Notwithstanding the (good) advice given by Saddleback, if you feel it looks & feels dry, you should do what your gut or instinct tells you.

It's great leather. It's only a wallet. If it were me; feeling as you say you do, I'd recondition it. fwiw. Don't overdo. You won't hurt it.

Thanks for the advice Rob. Believe me I don't always do as I'm told. ;) It's just that when a few different people say something that is contrary to what I am inclined to do, including a supposedly trusted source like the manufacturer, it gives me pause and makes me want to check opinions before I act. I simply don't want to over condition the wallet as Saddleback suggested is possible if you condition the wallet right away, because they already do it. I am not very knowledgeable about leather and my "instincts" told me it can't hurt to ask. I thought that maybe I just needed to be more patient and let the leather wear a little. I do appreciate your advice though, and I think that I will go ahead and apply some leather conditioner.

I've always had good luck with saddle soap and mink oil, but mink oil isn't always the choice. I will darken leather, and I don't think it will bother the marine grade polyester stiching. someone correct me if I'm wrong.
