I just realized last night that I seem to have a subcollection growing, without even having previously noticed. I've always loved pearl scales on knives (esp. with engraved bolsters), but it wasn't until I got them all out, that I realized the start of a trend. Any other subcollections out there? Ones that you never realized, until one day it struck you?

BTW, here are the ones I have so far. In the interest of full disclosure, I need to admit the Black Lip Pearl is being "worked off" in a weight loss deal with my wife. :D

Over time, I noticed that I had a growing amount of traditional folders; especially trappers. Nowadays, I have a collection of traditional folders of all types and still looking for more. It's funny as I started out, and still like getting the 'tactical' blades. BTW, I've a little collection of (about 10
) of pearl handled knives in traditional patterns.
 
Holy crap dude. Them's some sweeeeet lookin' blades!
I do happen to own an Osborne folder with pearl handles, and also a Hen & Rooster Trapper similar to yours, except with Damascus blades.

Yep, my 5" texas toothpick collection features a sub-collection of MOP handled ticklers. Mostly factory made. These are special to me and I like the handle material so well that I have added a few other patterns (Schrade/Schrade-Waldens I'm concentrating on).

But the Bradshaw really knocks my socks off!

For the Osborne folder, I'll have to lose a lot of weight! :grumpy: The Bradshaw was for my 40th B'day.

Possum: Nice Osborne! I see you also like the pearl and engraved look.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I also just realized that my wife purchased most of these for me. She's definitely a keeper. :eek:
