Love the camo blades, but...

I just love the urban camo finish on the blades of the Flash knives, but why oh why the partially serrated? I wish SOG would just make the plain edged knives and forget the serrations. I would buy one in a Flash!

this issue has been discussed and explained a million times

It's too bad that more thought wasn't put into the blade edge. I hate to see a potentially good knife be ruined by poor design.

yeah , sorry mate , i wasnt having a go at you.

No problem here, SirGalant. I just really like the urban camo scheme and think it would be awesome on a small folding knife. The Flash is so so close to being what I want but not quite there.

It would be nice if SOG offered plain edge on all their knives and give us a choice :jerkit: (i prefer plain edge also).

The discussions concerning the serrations comes up on every SOG knife design at some point that has them. Some like the serrations and others prefer a more traditional plain edge (like me). Same goes with the blade finish. It is all about manufacturing a sound product that the public wants to buy (ie. selling knives).

The Sealpup Elite design comes to mind. It is offered with the partial (1/2) serrated edge, a plain edge, and with the black Titanium coating, tiger stripe, and plain satin steel look without serrations. I bought the plain edge satin. I like this knife. You all should take a look at this one if you have not already. It comes with the kydex sheath that on the surface I don't like. But with use, it is a well designed sheath. The nylon sheath is also available for it.

This knife is big enough for most any chore and small enough for regular carry. The more I handle this knife, the more I like it!! The handle looks cheap, but it works well for this knife. It would also make a very good "survival knife".

I generally don't like the serrated edges. But I just ordered a SOG folder with the totally serrated edge as I have a very specific use planned for that knife which I hope it will fill the bill perfectly.

thank you 22 rimfire, for explaining that. i personally prefer serrated edges , and i hate sog`s kydex sheaths , but i don`t hate all kydex . i just bought a spyderco bill moran fb01 and it has a kydex sheath and that works beautifully. however this isn`t the spyderco forum. i have 13 sogs nand am working on getting more by the way. there are certain times and certain cutting chores when you need the different types of edges

They should either do completely serrated blades or completely plain edge. Combo edge really doesn't do the trick for anyone.
