Love the New Thumb Ramp

I just received my new small regular Sebenza (b. February 23, 2006), and I was very pleasantly surprised by the thumb ramp. My previous Sebbie had a thumb ramp that offered little purchase (it was quite smooth). My new Sebbie's thumb ramp has far more divots (19). It is identical to the thumb ramp pictured in the above sticky "How I Clean My Sebenza," and it offers very satisfactory purchase.

Yours is actually the old thumbramp, which CRK switched to the one with bigger "bumps" for a short period of time and then back to the type you're describing. I've personally never held one with the "lumpy" ramp, but have always been pleased with the original style ramp's performance.

sometime in 2004 they tried the big lumpy thumb ramp. The old/regular style is WAY better.

You know I would swear that my NICA Tanto has a thumb ramp like that. Like you said it has more purchase. I've compared it side to side with my other sebbies and the tanto is distictively "grippier". I like it.

Wow, that is quite a difference. I hadnt actually seen one of those before. Thanks for the pictures Labella. I'm glad all my sebbies have the old/reg/new/19 ridges thumb ramp

I dont mind either one, I have some unique graphics with the wider pattern and some "classic" patterned ones as well.


I will probably keep them both!

I like the newer thumb ramp. No intention of ridding myself of old thump ramp Sebbies.

I guess I meant to say I like the newer thumb ramp better but certainly wouldnt let go of a sebbie just because it had the older thumb ramp. In fact, the more I see it the more I kind of like it
