I have many quality knives (BM's (balis included), Spydies, KAI, etc.) Recently, I took an interest in these historic knives. Read many of the threads on them. I have been EDCing them even though they don't have pocket clips or one-handed opening. Also, have a Higo No Kami on order :D
Anyone else love these knives?

(sorry for the blurred pic:(

I've had my eye on an Opinel #7 and a brass Douk-Douk. Nice.

I'm unfamiliar with the one on top though.

The one on top is an Okapi. You can barely make out the name on the blade upside down. Originally made in Germany, largely for the South African market, it is now made in South Africa. Cold Steel knocked it off as the Kudu.

Although an okapi looks like an antelope, it is actually related to the giraffe.

Thanks Esav, had a CS American Lawman. Was a gift. Re-gifted it;) Not a CS fan but had to keep my Arc Angel because it's part of the bali collection. bjjb

Yeah there's definitely something about the classics that I love. I think I might pick up an opinal to use as a personal steak knife.

I agree that it is great fun to carry and use a classic knife style that has a history of centuries of use. My Opinel, Higonokami, and Sardinian resolza are part of my edc rotation. They are great cutters, and look non threatening, which is not a bad thing these days.
