Doing a bunch of yard work can normally take a while. Trying to ripe out stumps roots and prickle bushes with the usually array of clippers(generally useless) machetes and axes. Not Anymore. A few swings with an CAK took care of it all so quick even had time for bbq. Damn I love these things. While I'm still pretty new to this scene I'm still an awe at how well these tools work. To think of all the time I wasted trying to find bigger fixed blades that just wouldn't work.

Only problem is they seem to be addicting and now I keep looking for which one I need next.

Great news, thank you

That's the good news.

Welcome to the club, and to HIA -- Himalayan Imports Anonymous.
Wait until you trim those briar patches with a Tarwar. . .
or weed your garden with an R-10. . .
or split wood with a 25+ inch CAK -- just to justify why you needed a 25" "knife".

Oh the bliss of it all!

Recently cut some bushes over at a friend's house, very quickly. My friend's wife was so impressed she wants her own khukuri. I'm considering giving her my Bura chainpure, I have Bura sirupate that is my favorite:D. We cut down a small tree as well, they are very impressive choppers.

I am also very new to this scene, but truly amazed at the power of these blades. I just got a cheap kukri from another place and after hacking down 2 large spiky bushes in minutes trimming my own bushes nicely (not a hack job). It just seems amazing I cant wait to try an HI. I wondering whats the difference between an AK and a CAK, and which is better for chopping

AK = Ang Khola notably by the large fuller (or "back valley", which Ang Khola means) on the blade. The chopper of choppers.

CAK = Chiruwa Ang Khola. Same as an Ang Khola, except it has an exposed tang with scales pinned in place, versus the regular Ang Khola which has a full, hidden, tang.

That's the only difference. In chopping power, they'll be identical for identical length and weight. Pick the handle you prefer.

Used my sirupate again today, cut down a "poly carpus" ,my nephew standing nearby said it would take 15 minutes with the khukuri. Several swings later the bush came down ( in under a minute).
I remarked: "Time just flies doesn't it?" :)

I have a Chitlangi coming. I'm hoping it will make a good short machete. It will be my first HI . The slim long Sirupates look interesting to me, as well.
