Hi Guys,

Here is a Dixon Fighter I have recently finished, a personal favorite of Loveless...

ATS 34 with Desert Ironwood, red fiber liners and 303 Stainless guard + interscrews. The knife is truly well designed with great balance and has a great feel to it(even before I started grinding I couldn't keep my hands off of it)! Give your honest opinion!

Regards
Neill Schutte

Beautiful, I love Loveless knives and this is a wonderful tribute to the man himself!

I think the Dixon Fighter is my favorite Loveless knife. Sold mine a little while back.
This looks to be a very nice execution of the design.:thumbup::thumbup:

Thank you for the encouraging words!
I'll do my best to add some more good photos, as most of you know the photography is as challenging as building the knife...Except for Coop:)

Your added photos confirm my comment above. This is a very nice execution of the 'Dixon' design, especially the handle and that's where many Loveless influenced makers come up short.
I do have a question, did you take your red liners across the guard/handle transition? The photos kind of look like you did.

Thank you Kevin, I appreciate the compliments, especially if you owned an original Dixon and know what it should look like!

This is one of the first Loveless designed knives that I've made with the red liners going across the guard/handle transition as you've picked up.. I personally prefer it without, but decided to try it on this knife! What is your opinion?

I prefer it with the liners across the guard/scale face....it was something that Loveless did.....rarely.

It was something Loveless did VERY rarely and I prefer it without. However from a maker's perspective, I feel that if the maker is trying to duplicate the Loveless design then they should probably not use liners across the guard/handle, if they are trying to create their rendition of the Loveless design then yes do whatever they feel improves the design.

Couldn't really tell how nice the knife is from the first picture. The additional pictures really do that well.

VERY nice work Neil.

^ What he said...

Very nice. Love the color. Nice clean grinds, great pattern.

I also like where the scales swell, as I find many are too far forward on the grip.
