Loveless Bolt Question

I have searched the forums and net, bought the Loveless Barney book and "Living on the Edge"

The visible screw or bolt (center portion) is larger on the presentation side of the handle.

How were these nut bolt combinations made? It seems that the bolt head would have to be recessed into the nut and the bolt head would be similar to a corby with a slot for a screw driver.

Were these custom made or .... I just had a thought.

Maybe a slotted flat head machine screw and counter sink the nut 82 degrees?
This leaves little room for handle shaping.

Thanks in advance for any help with this.

Russ is correct. The upper bushing is drilled for a slip fit, the lower one is the only one that is threaded -an excellent design.

Hi Guys sorry to pull a Lazarus on this thread..... all links seem to be dead. Does someone have a pic or diagram of what the actual Loveless bolt looks like- not the commercially available ones but the ones they use/used that gives the large presentation side and then the half moon opposite side.

the google machine is a pretty incredible thing, so useful.
