Ive read the reviews on this knife and they seem to be fairly positive. Ive also read about some issues with blade "wobble" and cosmetic problems. I have been thinking of purchasing a new slipjoint, but Im a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to sj's. With that said can anyone add to what has already been written on these? I am interested, but I do not want to buy trouble if these do have problems. Im am a "stickler" when it comes to quality and "f & f". Also where can you get the best price for one?

Thanks
John

Well, you've read the reviews, so I would hand pick one off a dealer's table at a gun/knife show, since quality seems to be kinda hit or miss. Should cost you about $80. I have a nice one, with great grinds and no blade play. Mine was a little rough in the action at first, but has smoothed out considerably after countless openings.

I got mine from New Graham for $75. Overall I'm very pleased. Fit and finish is good, no wobble at all and it's came very very sharp. Only thing I don't like is that the blade is a little short for the relative handle size, but I can get over it. Deffinetly a knife I'm glad I bought.

If your picky, I agree with Danbo. However, I got mine at a store, it was the only one they had and it's got no wobble and the fit and finish is good.

Slide13, according to lone wolf, the blade size is designed short by Loveless to keep it "city" legal. The handle is a little longer to aid in things like paring apples. That's also why the thumb grooves are on the blade side of the handle and not the top as other designers have done.
