Here's the first knife of 2013:

(I am not a photographer, so I apologize for the crappy photos.)

It's an integral version of Bob's Hip Pocket Hunter with a semi-skinner style blade. (Made using techniques explained to me at the Loveless shop by Jim Merritt).

The knife started off as a 2lb block of D2 Tool Steel and the finished knife weighs only 5oz.

I don't intend on making too many more of these due to the insane amount of work involved.

Thank you for stopping by.

Guessing, is the blade approx 3"..?

Would you mind if I showed it to the guys on SABlade please..?

You're welcome to show the knife anywhere you want.

Thank you for all the positive feedback. :)

Very nice Marcus; so it took you a month to mill all that D2 away (first knife of the year)! :D

You ought to be proud. That looks super clean, and I can only imagine how much work it took to get this far.

Good post. Good luck. :)

Thank you David.

I guess I should have said "First completed knife of 2013" .... started this one a long time ago, didn't have time to finish it until recently. Milling the D2 isn't too bad: using the right coolant, end mills and having a 2HP full size vertical mill helps. It's the finishing that drives you nuts, every step has to be planned in advance... :)

That's really well done, Marcus. A lot of work, I'm sure, but the end result is dynamite.

Fantastic knife Marcus! There must have been so much work involved in making this piece. Yet another Lin knife to add to my collection. Can't wait for it to arrive and see it for real.
