Received a telephone call from Bob last night informing me that my semi-skinner with stag handle was ready! After 30+ years of collecting custom knives and firearms(they go hand in hand-no pun intended), last fall I wrote Bob a letter detailing my collecting history and that I really wanted a Loveless knife for hunting and that it would not sit on the shelf and I would not sell it for a profit(I don't sell anything). He accepted the order and now I have to wait for the check to get California and clear etc. Turkey hunting is this April and we have tags, if I get a turkey, it will be the first chance to use the knife as I promised Bob. For 30+ years I have been using various Corbet Sigman knives (which are beautifully ground) for hunting and a whole bunch of other stuff I have collected. I really enjoy a good hunting trip with great companions, good beer(after hours) and fine firearms and knives. There is something about a product that an individual puts his creative talents into that increases the enjoyment of using that product. Enough drivel, I have to keep on my toes from having my Wife(caps are intentional) find the custom camp knife from John Smith, that should be in the mail in a short while. When I told Her about the Loveless, Her only reply was " Is this going to cost as much as yout last watch?" Dick.

Bob definitely loves his knives to be used!

Congratulations on your new knife, I hope you'll post a picture when you get it.

But, you've got a major story here. Are you saying that Bob Loveless only has a 6 month waiting list? If I write him a letter can I get one too?

I will post pic and review when knife arrives. I do not know what Bob's wait time is or how he prioritises orders. I just know that I wrote him and honest and factual letter and he responded. Maybe he had a cancelation for the same type of knife because of the high price(about 3-4 times what other makers would ask for the same type of knife). I just don't know. Dick

I can hardly wait! Hurry up mailman!!! Wait, I'm not even getting the knife

Well will settle for a pic and a review!

budrichard, I'm not really in the market for a genuine Loveless, if I were I would have never thought about trying to contact Bob directly, I would have gone to JW Denton. I compliment you for your initative to going to him direct. Heck, I'm impressed enough that you got a phone call from the man. That must have been one heck of a letter.

Dick- Dave Ellis here. you will not be dissapointed with your Loveless knife! I constantly hear and read posts about how this makers knives are better and Loveless knives are overpriced, etc. As soon as you hold your new Loveless you will find that this is one knife that really fits and works. i have been around knives my whole life, Morans,Schmidt,S.R. johnson and in my opinion nothing feels like a Loveless in your hand enjoy!
