I started this knife about a year ago,got very frustrated with hand filing the guard so it sat until a couple months ago.
having lots of trouble with the mirror finish on the blade. Tried hand sanding from 400 to 2500 about 3 times, and norax to x5 a couple of times , and SR Johnsons cork belt.
I'll try to correct the problems on the next one.

This is my best F&F to date, still need improvement in all areas but pretty happy over all.
Thanks for looking, hope you enjoy it.

Exceptional. For future reference what would you charge for something like that? You should try maroon linen with ivory colored liners!

Looks great, good fit around the guard and I don't see any finish flaws. That will skin deer and elk all day.

beautiful taper from tip to tail!

ATS has been known for a "grainy" polish in recent yrs. Put the handle swell in the middle and a hollow where the second pin is. Otherwise very nice; great grind!

Thanks all for the great response, wasn't expecting that.

I have some of the old thin red liner material and old ivory paper micarta that gets darker w/age . Use that when the work warrants it. Being a new maker and having only sold one knife before, price is undecided.

A couple more out of the same steel waiting for guards.

Thanks for your tips David, I've been watching your site for progress on the Loveless knives. The handle shape is the main area I'm not satisfied with thanks for the tips.

Thanks all for looking and commenting.

I was worried that I was too forward.

I started a HIDI (How I Do It) on my blog and I am collecting photos that I will post here as a complete HIDI in a couple of weeks. I didn't want to do it real time.

With that kind of effort you wont be denied. The true to form Loveless does have a swell in the middle and a hollow at the second pin, but I don't know, I kinda like them nice and thin like that also. Looks Great up close. Very Nice.

Thanks ,Hengelo and Alan

The Loveless handle seems to have slight variations through the years from what I have seen from pictures. I haven't captured it.

Then there are interpretations by others, RC Brown is one of my favorites, ,Thad Buchanan Charles Vestal, Markus Lin, Ian Bailey, David Sharp, Mike Lovett and countless others.

I'm using the making of the Loveless hunter as a training tool, when able to make a reasonably close copy of that knife other more complex designs will be easier.

Thanks for your comments.
