My mate who kindly took the photos would be grateful for any comments too!
Thanks for looking

I have a thing for blade to handle ratios; and those look off balanced to me. I just do not care for brass on knives.

though also not a fan of brass, i do like the blades. they look in proportion to me... but everyone's eye is different. very clean work!

I'm not fan of brass either, but that doesn't take away from the fact that I find these two knives to be darn good looking.

Thank you all for your comments, its very much apprieciated.
Just as a matter of interest, what is everyones favourite guard material?
It seems that brass is not very popular at all!
I like it myself because I'm fond of a kind of traditional look.
Actually, I may make this a seperate post!! Thanks for making me think!
Regards, Ian

I like the looks of both knives just fine and the pictures aren't bad either. I have always liked brass on a knife, but I only use it if a customer requests it or if I am making one for myself. I might have used a more straight on shot, but then you loose the view of the tang. To me, handle size has more to do with the size of the hand, not the blade. I have had some knives with short blades that had full size handles that were a joy to use although some might have thought them odd looking.
