I was recently contacted by a customer about doing a Loveless style knife. He had a pic of a Loveless "Straight" Hunter that we both thought would make a good project. Here's the knife we ended up with based on that pic. It's done in 154 cpm stainless with a blade length of just over 4", a tapered tang and ivory micarta handles with red liners.

and here's the original Loveless piece

Very clean David - nice work

Thanks for sharing that here. There is a lot to like there.

The only think I am not sure about is the "palm swell" on the handle. I have always considered this kind of a big thing about Loveless knives, and I can see it in the picture of the actual Loveless knife that you included for comparison. But I can't see it in the pictures of your knife. The sides of the handle appear fairly or even totally flat. Maybe it is there and the pictures just don't show it. If it actually has that Loveless palm swell, great!! If not, then maybe something to consider in your next knife.

Again, thanks for showing that to us.

Thanks Virginian & I agree. My contouring of the handle was something that can be improved upon. Mine does have just a bit of a "waist" at the rear Corby bolt but using thicker handle slabs would have allowed me to add more shape. Here's a very poor pic.

Thanks. I can see a little bit of swell in that pic, which is good.

All in all, it looks like a very, very nice knife and I am sure your customer is very happy and rightfully so.
