It was harder than usual to get my head around using this one, but Mike pointed out I could always send it back to him for some refinishing if I got tired of using it. Many thanks to Mike for soldering both this one and its twin City Knife (pics to follow) and for breaking into his old ironwood stash.

Thanks to Coop for the light box thread. The pics are at least better than my previous efforts. Any helpful hints on the pics are welcome. Lessons one and two seem to be take care about reflections and be consistent about color adjustments.

What's the function on the little step/shelf in the underside of the handle? Is it sheath related?

Thanks,

Stephen

As far as I know it doesn't have anything to do with the sheath.

As small as it it, it's very effective for indexing. My third finger sits against it and it's enough to definitely let me know what's where. Mike would know, but I suspect it makes the grip feel a little better too, accommodating a little for the difference in length between the second and third fingers.

Hopefully Mike will swing by and add some light, lovely little piece! Functional and handsome.

I don't Know How I missed this thread.

Thanks for the Great Pictures!

The step in the bottom of the grip is to aid in indexing, and to help from slipping forward in a pushing cut.

This knife and this quality never go stale.

I've done the math: 8 yr. wait + 66 age = 6' under.

You should show more respect for your elders, Mike.
