Ivory gives me the heebie jeebies for its' propensity to crack/check and shrink.....these look real nice!

I talked to Mike the other day about ordering a chute knife in elephant ivory and he told me that he was 7 to 8 years backordered. I guess it is nice that he is so popular, but that is just too long for me.

A simply stunning set! Thanks a lot for sharing these, Mike is doing some spectacular work.

Congrats!
Great to see someone score a couple Mike Lovett's knives.
Two amazing examples as well.
But ain't they all. :D

I got to handle these at the Chicago show and they are very nice. White ivory and shinny stainless steel is difficult to photograph but Coop pulled it off.

Terrific pair, and if I recall, the beginning of an exceptional set. Congrtas!

I think this speaks well of Mike. Back ordered 8 years and he still takes the time to field phone calls!

Very beautiful pair, great catch!
I'm glad I ordered a chute from him some time ago when the backlog was shorter :)

PK, that's a great looking pair of knives. I know you are pleased with them.

Those are gorgeous!

Now if I could only go to a time-machine and get my set that I have on order with Mike. Same set (battle and chute) but with that "awful" Micarta stuff :p.

One thing I am curious about - they seem to be marked "01" and "02". How is that possible? I am sure they are not Mike's first battle and chute knives.

I was wondering when one of the sharp eyed Forumites would catch this.
These knives are the beginnings of a set of Fighters- all in ancient elephant
ivory-that will have consecutive shop numbers from Mike.

I'm not a Big Fan of Ivory either, but that Battle Blade is Freakin' Beautiful. That's my All Time Favorite Loveless design & Mike NAILED IT as Usual. The Chute knife Compliments it Nicely, and the Ivory REALLY Sets Both knives Off!!!!

Thanks so much every one! I know what you mean Keith! The long wait can be a real bummer. But I enjoyed our conversation. B-K'S pic got deleted, so I'm putting this one up for reference. Once again everyone, A big Thank" And hang in there!!! Mike

Mike! Many thanks for posting the picure: I would have hated to miss a view of your knives! I am nuts about your chute knives and I love Ivory. That would be my favorite!:)
