For years I carried a tomahawk and a longknife whenever we went out and about. Its a hold over from my buckskinning days and are pretty good tools, both filling unique duty roles.

After purchasing my BK2 a few months ago, I've stopped carrying my tomahawk as it does just about everything I was able to do with my 'hawk, with a few obvious exceptions.

I also added an Eskabar to my walk-about kit and fell in love with the thing! Now, I've stopped carrying the longknife and 'hawk and saved myself a few pounds as well as the frustration of dealing with a 19" pole.

Without further preamble, here are my new friends!

My Eskabar with a little knot work. Now my EDC!

BK2 without the lanyard. Will make a new one after I strip the blade.

Very nice, I like the wrap job on the 14. What scales are those on the BK2, I like them.

Nice blades! I love my knives (11,2...9 and 7 in the mail.) You will like the 2 stripped, I know I do! Love the knot work on your 14 also! Makes me think about redoing mine!

The scales are paper micarta from a seller on ebay. I forget the name now, but if you search for BK Scales you'll find him.
Saint Cutlery of something similar.

Thanks! I took the family to Beaver Creek a week or two ago and snapped a few picks as we explored the creek.

The knots I found on http://stormdrane.blogspot.com/
Great site with a lot of really good instructions for wraps and such.
