Loving my Sharp maker

The more I use this sharp maker , the more impressed I am with it . I just have the regular , no diamond rods or the extra fine , I have the lansky for
getting a new bevel and usually finish out with a strop , .05 micron compound
. I get killer edges . But I did with the lansky also , with the add-on sapphire 2000 grit stone . But the sharp maker is so much easier . Gotta love it :thumbup:
 
Had mine for over 10 years. With the stock rods, it will do all the cutting tricks I know of, except toilet paper. The UF rods might do that. I even rebeveled several knives with it: Boye Prophet Companion, kitchen paring knife, Outdoor Edge Impulse, maybe one more. The only down side is it must be paired with a coarse stone or grinder of some sort. Rebeveling those 3 knives took nearly a month.
 
I might get uf rods later on ..I can go beyond a "working edge" now , but I like sharpening to superedge
