I plan on doing a full review on it after I have carried it around for a few weeks.

Looking forward to your review. I have been back n forth on purchasing this knife due to the handle material. I have been buying knives with only G10 for handle material and have decided that when I spend money on a knife that will have to be a requirement. I do love the blade on the knockout though, and that is why I am indecisive on this purchase. The knockout resembles the 350 in some ways. One advantage of the knockout is that it doesn't have a recurve blade which I like better. I have re-profiled my 350's to take the recurve out and convex the edges. I don't know how much carry time the knockout would get due to the handle material. Wish Kershaw would put some G10 on that bad boy.

PC87, the first run of knockouts had g10 handles. The one pictured above is a second run with aluminum handles. Both have the same design handle with lines through them. If you are unsure call and ask whatever dealer you may be using to see what material they have before ordering. I am sure there are still some g10 left out there.

On a side note, I actually like the aluminum better myself.

Thanks juju, people I have contacted do not have them in G10. Don't know how many they made on that run but I sure wish I could find one.

Before this blade I was not into flippers or assisted openers. The blade shape is what got my attention. I'm a sucker for wide flat ground drop points. Now I am finding that I actually enjoy the flipper and the assisted opening. As far as the handle I like the aluminum a lot, it is little slick but you could always get a custom g10 scale made for the non lock side. That would be all the grip you need :)

Johhny, If you like the knockout you should try the rake. Similar shape blade with assisted opening, flipper ,and it is a composite blade with d2 cutting edge. And it comes in g10 for PC87!

It is like the kershaw version of the at 0350 to me.

Ya the rake is a pretty cool looking blade. I may have to pick one up.

If only kershaw added some jimping to the spine. I love kershaw products, but they always seem to lack adequate jimping. I still own a blur, and a skyline, and I would love to own more, if only they did something about the lack of jimping. And yes, I own ZT, they do a great job with that line.

I just hate slick lines with nothing for your hands, or thumb to dig into. I wish I could let their design team seriously understand that at the end of the day, it's a knife. You need some traction.

I used to feel that way about gimping too until I realized most manufacturers put it in the wrong places anyway. Now I don't really care if a knife has gimping or not.

Ok the rake is not for me, don't like the curved handle and the blade. Overall look of the knife is just not my taste. Thanks juju for the recommendation though I really appreciate it.

I guess I will have to wait till they put a flipper on the 550 and/or keep buying the different flavors of 350's and re-profiling the blades. I am a sucker to for those flat grind drop points, just doesn't get better than that.

Thanks

The Offset has some mean Jimping for the thumb, my favorite to date.

I wasn't digging the Rake's blade shape either, but I love the composite blades that kershaw has so I took it to the grinder until I was happy with it :)

I'm very tempted to hold off on purchasing another budget kershaw and instead waiting to get this (or the larger cryo if that comes out first). I love the deep clip and overall size/thickness from the reviews I've seen so far.

Gooeytek, that grind looks great, like an entire new knife....that Kershaw should produce and sell. :)

Wow, that looks amazing. When I get one can you do that to mine? Lol :D

It's really not hard to do, just do it a little at a time and keep the blade cool. Been wanting to do something similar to a BM Onslaught and make it a Persian :)

Loving this blade!!!!

Word.

The good: thin, flat, aluminum scales; disappears in pocket; smooth profile makes insertion of hand in pocket easy; flipper action is functional and fun to play with; reasonable weight at 3.6 oz; deep carry clip; largish blade at 3.25". Unique lock. And again, there is that thin thing. I love bigger knives that seem smaller in the pocket.

The less than good: not much; I like Nutnfancy's addition of grip tape to the end, to aid extraction of the slick scales; could benefit from a little jimping up top; and knocking $15 off the price would be nice, but thats easy for me to say.

This knife may very well earn a spot on the non-existent Powernoodle Top 10 EDC list.

Wow. That is what I'd like to see Kershaw do. You basically took a nice knife, and made it awesome.

I love the looks of the knockout. I can't even express in words how happy i am kershaw has started using a stonewash finish on more of their less expensive knives. I think we're all getting tired of bead blasted blades. My budget got hit pretty hard these last few weeks with the purchase of my first 0560 but i'm hoping i can make it to the factory sale and pick up a knockout.

I just got my Knockout today and my first impression is very favorable.

Likes: stonewashed blade, blade shape, deep carry pocket clip, thinness, it came very sharp, solid lock up, blade is centered
Dislikes: handle material, lanyard hole (why even bother?), lack of gimping

I like it so much that I am now considering the Piston which seems very similar.
