Low Down on the BK-10

So I get that the BK-10 is a limited edition of only 160-180 pieces (have seen both numbers quoted). I get that they are running out at Ka-bar.

However I saw a YouTube video review stating that the knife he had was a "Camillus era" BK-10.

Is the BK-10 a knife that was done by Camillus, put into hibernation and then resurrected again as an LE by Ka-bar? Or is this run the one and only of this knife?

The reason I ask is that I had figured, given that Ka-bar won't ship international that there was no point even bothering. Then a guy on a forum over here in Oz put one up for sale, and even though it means mortgaging one of the kids, I have secured it to add to my collection. ;)

So please enlighten this late comer to the game, just how special is the BK-10?

I dont know the numbers. but BK-10 was a Camillus model they are kind of spendy. Ka-Bar bought 180 Camillus BK10 blanks at the Camillus bankruptcy auction. They discarded a few defective ones and produced about 160 BK10LE that were for Beckerheads. After Beckerheads got first dibs they were available to anyone for 150. They are not being made now and as far as I know there are no plans to make them in the foreseeable future. If any of this isnt accurate please let me know.

Here is my BK10LE :) The scale are custom but the BK10LE comes with Micarta and Grivory

i am a newb. to this forum and becker knives . However i believe camillius made a bunch of theses knives, but rarely for sale (and expensive) . and the 180 LE's were camillus blanks processed and treated by KaBar. When they are gone . . the BK10 is done ( i hope i am able to secure one ) . So yeah I would say its pretty special .

bump to a BH with more knowledge .

Psyop pretty much has it.

don't have numbers on the Camillus model (nobody does ;>) but they made a FEW of the BK10s, and they surface a lot, but they are also prized, because they haven't been in production since. they are one of the few Camillus era models to not get made yet, and perhaps the last, if ever. people want them, it seems, but there's no great rush either :)

the easily available BK2 is a much better price point, or people get a BK7 (and some MOD it to a BK10), or the so called BK12, Doug Ritter's Perseverance, is a viable candidate.

KaBar has been known to ship out international, and even bend over backwards for the fan-base on a few occasions. pretty nifty if you ask me.
