Low ride pocket clips, has anyone tried this?

I was just messin' around with my William Henry Lancet when noticed that the clip on the leather William Henry knife pouch was the same width(a hair under or an RCH for you machinists out there), as the clip for my small Sebenza 21.

It looks to me that with a little modification to the pouch clip,(it has to be cut down because the back part of the clip is as long as the front) you could make a low ride clip that would fit nearly perfect.

Unfortunately I'm currently broke and only have one pouch for my WH Lancet so I can't experiment but I was wonderin' if anyone else has noticed this.

Seein' as how this is my first Sebenza I'm still a little awestruck at the knife but give me a little time and I'll start playin' around with it a little more, right now I'm still fondlin' it 'cause it's still new. :)

Photos of what you have in mind? I too like to tinker and modify, but I don't know what you are talking about to visualize it.

Oh and by the way...My wife is a ginger so not only machinists know what you are referencing! HAHA :D

Personally, I'd like to have a clip that won't snag on everything and pull away from the knife. I've done it twice now, and only had the thing for 5 days. The only other knife that has given me clip issues was a SOG pentagon elite. I swear I had to fix that clip on a weekly basis. I am now in the search for a different one, I don't care if it's steel or not, I just want it to stay put! I REALLY like this 25, but I can't deal with a weak clip holding a 450 dollar knife to my pocket. If you have any leads, well let me know..

I'll take pics of what I have in mind later today.

Here's a pic of a WH pocket sheath notice the pocket on sheath is riveted on the opposite end, that's the backside the clip, I figure if I take the rivet out and cut the backside down it fits in clip recess on my 21, all I gotta do is drill the hole and figure out to get the screw in.

But lookin' at the shape the WH clip it would allow deep pocket carry for my 21.

I've always thought the knife should have a deep carry clip. It would have to be offset or have a large enough hole in the top to get a screw in, however. The 25 having only one screw for a clip means that it has to be shaped to fit in the depression for stability. As I've said before; I wish Chris would have used the standoff screw to further simplify the knife.

Good point! I also wish it was a little shorter as well. It would feel a lot more comfortable in hand.

Interesting topic, I will be interested to see if it works!
