Hey guys, I'm looking for a list of folding, pocket clip knives that ride low in the pocket like the BM 740 or Kershaw E.T. The less of the knife sticking out the better. Any ideas?

I suggest you ask this question in the STR's Backyard subforum under "Makers."

Sog does a good job with their clipping that allows the knife to not be seen in the carrier's pocket.

Yeah the Al MAR Sere couldn't ride any lower if it tried :D

Shame i didn't care much for the clip on mine and took it off anyway..

I don't have that problem...but I only wear cargo pants now...I wonder if that has soemthgin to do with it? I find the pockets to be much looser than Jeans...I onyl wore jeans for years and years, but one day I bought a pair of cargos, and never looked back, much lighter and cooler in the summer...

I've got a Flash II in the pocket of my cargos and all you can see is the clip. About as low profile as you can get in a clipped folder.

How's this for a novel idea? Put your pocket knife IN YOUR POCKET. Has everyone forgotten the time before people thought all folding knives needed pocket clips? If you don't want it sticking out (read: in plain sight) then put it in your pocket. Clips can be useful for certain applications, but they are hardly needed in most cases.

Carry your knife IWB; behind your belt. You won't have any trouble with your clip showing if you carry your knife that way.

I had moved away from clips till I had a very nice AG Russell/ Boker Barlow go MIA for a couple of months. I finally found it when I detailed the wife's car. Now I'm hesitant to carry it. Not every pair of pants is suited for pocket carry, I have a few cargos that just don't hold pocket knives. I still haven't warmed up to belt carry so I went back to clips.

Buy the knife you want and send it to STR and he will put a clip on it for you for very little. Just pick a knife you like and ask him if he can do it before you buy it but he can do most any knife out there. Steve is a great guy and you wont go wrong. Go to his part of the site and look at his work. GOOD LUCK! Kevin:thumbup:

The SOG Twitch series rides pretty low, but then again the pocketclip features the companie's name in skeletonized font so it really attracts more attention than a plain clip.

Here's the PIKA in the pocket:

Hey, if that works for you, great. Personally, I prefer the clip. Without a clip, it moves around in my pocket too much, is hard to get at, and can fall out when sitting down. I like the knives that offer the benefits of a clip, but enough subtlety to be less obvious to the sheeple.
