Just wondering if this is normal. Got a replacement JP110 from Terava a while back. Besides a very lopsided tip grind, my buddy said it actually looked a little hollow ground, so I decided to try a little Sharpie to see if he was just a little cross-eyed.
Put the bevel flat on my Norton stone and gave a few passes. When I checked, the Sharpie was removed evenly, EXCEPT in a spot about an inch wide.
I've included pics taken after some grinding on the rougher side of the stone, scratch pattern difference clearly shows lower area.
Between the tip and this, I'm wondering if Laurin Metalli is sending Terava factory seconds, or just letting the janitor have a turn on the grinder
