I'm looking for some online knife dealers that actually have stock, IN STOCK! I like looking at knives but when I'm looking at something that really "speaks" to me, it seems like it's always out of stock or what stock they have don't have the scales/panels/handles on them that I like. Are the pix left up even after they sell them to keep enticing us or something? It merely annoys me really. BF is my source for enticement, you guys are a bad influence on me! Now, I know we're not allowed to post links and such so this should be a somewhat short thread. :p If you know of some secret online dealers that actually have knives in stock, I'd love a PM from you. I'm really digging GEC and related traditionals right now. Barlows, American Jacks, Beagles(kinda), Cattleman, Boy's knives and the like are on my radar right now.

Links to BF dealers can be posted in the thread. (We normally frown on that, but..'tis the season, don't ya know.)

It will have to be a Visitor Message. PMs come as a perk with a paid subscription. You might also want to modify your profile settings to allow email.

I hate to be a killjoy, but there really aren't any secret dealers. They are all listed on GEC's website. Aside from brick and mortar stores, that's pretty much it. My only suggestions would be to continually check those dealers because sometimes they either acquire collections or they recieve new 'old stock'. That and the exchange are about the only options. Along with spending hours poring through google searches.

I've noticed that within the last few months, all of the dealers are just about stripped to the bone in regards to GEC.

Good luck!

Will do, thanks!

Yep, just as I thought. I guess I gotta keep poring over the sites 'till I find what I'm looking for. Found a #35 Harness Jack on Fleabay for $210!:hororr:

I'm fairly certain Gunstock Jack still has them in stock.

GEC knives can be quite frustrating to buy at times. It seems that they are starting to produce their popular models in larger numbers, which is nice.

Beagles (and Coyotes) and Boys Knives (#14s mostly but some #15s, as well) are still pretty readily available. There are a ton of stainless 15s out there still.

Be sure to check GECs website to get the complete list of dealers.

$145 on our pal Gunstockbarry's place last I saw

When hunting for GEC knives the hunt becomes almost as addictive as the acquisition. GEC's website covers a majority of the sites but not all. I have found several in the oddest of places.

Type the tang stamp number, the actual name, the abbreviations, the names used for it, all while changing the search timeline to within a week or two. Do this for a couple weeks and it usually shows a clear picture of movement leading to possible sales.

The bay is not the only place to find mint to used knives. There are several sites that contain those who have sold individual pieces or their whole collection. Don't be afraid to contact them for a lower price if you find one. Even arts and crafts type sites will have a few usually. Try different wording and you'll find sites that don't know what they have. This is changing though as GEC is getting more popular.

Contacting the owners of the dealer site may be beneficial as most of them, well some, are on different forums, and may run across what you are looking for.

Often times picture searches will help as does contacting the owner of the pictures.

Yet, the number one way is to just get the word out here. Often friends will keep an eye for a certain knife you're searching for as most here enjoy the hunt.

There is also the want to buy thread or the possible trade. You may have one someone else wants.

Good luck in the hunt. There are a few honey holes out there but they are becoming less and less.

Stock can move fast this time of year, but I try to keep up so that all listed knives are in stock. I do not sell knives that I don't have on hand, but that's just me. New old stock is occasionally added but usually sells quickly.
