Ok, been playing with my first real knife, a Persistence. Loving just opening and closing it and bought a few things at Target tonight just so I could open it with a knife. Well, the dogs needed treats anyway and rather than tearing it open, I CUT IT OPEN!!
So, been reading every now and then that some of you prefer a knife where the clip is higher on the handle which allows less of it to show out from the pocket. I kinda agree and have seen a picture or two of a knife that seems like the clip is flush with the pocket. Like that look. Just aesthetics I am guessing.
But will the clip loosen. Seems like I have to use two hands to shove it down onto the pocket. I have seen some Spydie clips that look like paper clips - I am guessing those are looser fitting.
Any of you kinda bend the clip out some?
Also, just curious but say my clip is mounted tip down, which is the end where the blade would open up. DO they make after-market clips that would, try to picture this, go on the other end and go over the one side of the handle and down the other side so that you could in essence have a flush mount?
Parentheticallly, I looked at my knife just now and see that the holes drilled for the tip up carry position are about half as close to the edge of the knife handle tip as they are with the tip down, so less of the knife would show. Now this is just me in my preference at present, but I kinda like being able to pull the knife out, tip down, and have it situated that I can go to an immediate open position in my hand, and then flip it open quickly, rather than having to reorient the knife.
