Went out for the day on the Missinaibi River, a heritage river in North Ontario Canada. My son and I started at the Goat R. and ended in the town of Mattice Ontario. All in all we did about 60kms, and it took a long time due to water levels being low. Some of the rapids we just got out and walked!
Anyway enjoy.
Oh yeah knife stats - I carred my new Little Hen knives puko style FB. My sone had his SOG Pentagon FB, with a leatherman in the accessory pouch

Nice trip, thanks for sharing. Where did you put in? I'm guessing at the blue arrow?

That's beautiful country, up there.

Years ago, we canoed the Groundhog from Foleyet to Fauquier (red arrow)- many fond memories. In fact, here's a couple of pictures (take note of the Buck Knives hat :D ):

As you can probably tell, at times, the 2 canoes were lashed together (for sailing, etc.)

Hey Doc, pretty much on the money with the map - started a little bit SW and finished a couple of kms north of Mattice.
Love those photos of yours' esp. the lawn chair canoe seat!

thanks for the beautiful pictures!

What is the Canoe? How heavy is it?

It's a 15' Grumman It weighs around 60lbs. I got it used in the 80's and it was old at that time:eek:
Been on a few rivers and lakes since then, and only has 1 patch after all this time. They are tough boats:)

They are tough all right, but noisy as hell, not to mention cold in late fall and early spring (if you're kneeling). The only wildlife you could sneak up on was a deaf moose. :(

Years ago we used to rent Grummans for trips.
