RescueRiley, Kuruptd, Marcelo, and I are getting together for a day trip tommorow. Since we are getting a heat wave over here (34F) it should be alot of fun in the forest tomorrow. I figured I would open the invite to all those who live close. We are meeting by my house, 1 hour and 20 minutes northeast of NYC. Exit 8 or 9 off I84.

Sound off if you want to get together for a short hike and a full day of woodcraft.

Tony, You guys are killing me. I need to get outside and a daytrip sounds like it would be great... The only thing standing in my way... Is my wife at the front door with my 2 week old son in her arms.

This is my year to meet up with you guys for some dirt time. Have a great time and please post pictures of the adventure.

I hear you Paul, Family first! I remember those days with my daughter, now that she is 5 I have more time though. :)

I am working tomorrow as well but will stay posted for future hikes. I am exit 26 of I-84!!
 
I'm off and would definitely be up for a day in the woods if I'm welcome. (A Grouchoism comes to mind :D)

What time did you have in mind, stove or open fire and would this be a good time to break in a new pair of boots? :D

You are absolutely welcome. We only have about 5" of snow on the ground and it is not a far hike in, so feel free to test new boots. We are meeting about 10:30am

…also sorry to hear that the rest of the crowd got cold feat after your taking a day off to facilitate this gathering. :grumpy:


The dogs and I did get about for a few hours to practice some of the same skills you and Marcelo where practicing.

Great stuff Mike! As Marcelo and I crossed a few frozen streams, I was thinking; "If Mike was here, he would take a picture of that" :D

The guys didn't get cold feet, Riley got a stomach bug, Kurupt was left with out a Ride do to that, and Cd160 got tied up with something. No biggie though.. There is always next time.

Yeah, I had a problem with the Post Office. They didn't want to give me my Going Gear fire steels :mad:. It was a great day to be out, sucks I missed it.

I am definitely going to make the next one, come hell or high water I will make it.
 
I will be making the next one as well. With a little more notice I will adjust my days off to attend.
 
Sorry again T- I threw up so many times tand became so dehydrated that I didn't piss for about 30 hours.. Had to give my self 2 liters of fluid via IV.. before I could even wal across the room.. amazing how a little thing can lay a body up.. My kid (who brought it home) shook it off in about 10 hours,... Guess I;m getting old. I'm not one tomiss a day out with folks I like for no reason.. I'm in for next time.
