Lowes Buck special

Went in Lowes yesterday .they have a 2 knife set (3 blade and 2 blade ) for 19.99 . Now can that be possible.I cant feel the knives because they are in a hard plastic cover(you know what I mean) But REALLY two Buck knives for 19.99. Any info on these knives and where is Buck going with this . would a consumer have to tell the difference between junk and good stuff?

They are the Buck 373 Trio and 385 Toothpick. Both use 420J2 steel and are made in China. The Trio normally sells for slightly less than this two knife set so I'd say it's a decent deal. Of the off shore models I have the fit and finish is just fine and I've had no problems with the steel in everyday use. They come with the same "forever" warranty as the rest of Buck's knives.

Yep. Something for the young folks to introduce them to responsible knife ownership and use. If they loose it it's not a lot of money down the drain plus it introduces them to a well made product from a wonderful, family owned business. Everyone needs a handy blade in their pocket, kitchen drawer, glove box. Just don't be surprised if the recipients end up like the rest of use steelheads with a serious steel addiction. It's gotta start some where, why not with a Buck?
