If anybody is interested, Lowes stores are clearancing the knives sold in their knife display cases. They are going to blister packed knives only, no more boxed knives. Mainly Case Knives, but they carry two or three Victorinox SAK's and usually a Swisstool model. The Lowes in SC have been running clearances for about two or three weeks, but it seems to be an individual store or market area decision on the timing. Once the knives go to some type of "dead stock" status, they are marked down and cleared out as fast as the store manager can move them, usually a 50% markdown. I bought $2,000.00 worth of Case knives and Vic's for $1,000.00. About half are going into my collection, the others will be sold at my local gunshow, hopefully I can come reasonably close to paying for the ones I keep.
Anyway, check your local Lowes, this is a nationwide change and all the Lowes will eventually get rid of their old wooden knife display cases and boxed stock.
