I would love to get a benchmade griptilian but i have a small budget as of right now... i was wondering if there are any knives out there with a similar design and feel as the grip but a much smaller price tag?

The Griptilian is pretty much as good as it gets for the price.
You'd still be better off saving up for a 14205 though (you'll see).

The 14205 is a nice knife, however, as an intro to the Axis, you can get a Small grip for around $50. Just save until you have enough. If you get something "similar" it is not going to be what you wanted and you will always wonder.

Right on!

Every watch I bought had a certain look. Black face, black bezel, water resist to at least 200m, screw down crown, etc... Much $$$$ later I finally bought a Rolex diver and I think I'm done with watches now. Thus is true with knives as well.

And it's a great knife!

522 and 527 Presidio Ultra might be worth a look, and I'd give a +1 to the 530. If you are patient you can find a nice, lightly carried axis user in the $50-$75 price range.
