Over a year ago, I was getting my Lightning Strike Carbon Fiber from Chuck and Jessica Bybee (Alpha Knife Supply). They were getting the "expired" LSCF directly from Boeing out in Washington State and they had an exclusive on it. In case you don't know, a Japanese supplier was making LSCF exclusively for Boeing to be used in the Boeing 787. Pretty interesting stuff, you can read more technical stuff here:

Obviously, a knife maker doesn't need the shielding capacity that LSCF exhibits, but what was great about the product, was that it has exception rigidity and is free of voids.
Fast forward to the last time I called AKS about reordering some LSCF for my scales I fabricate, Jessica and Chuck told me that Boeing was no longer selling it.
So, I had to turn away many people here and abroad that LSCF was no longer available. Well, some fabricators have popped up and are using the LSCF moniker in their "homebrewed" version. Let the buyer beware
Not all LSCF clones are very good=voids, etc.
I was referred to someone from Tom Mayo that makes outstanding LSCF!
I can't tell the difference between the real deal and my new find.
Here are some pictures from a recently completed CRK project. I hope you like them!
