I apologize if I'm posting about something that has already been discussed (my search isn't working) but I just came across this on Cold Steel's website (the new "Sharkie" is actually a pretty great idea- I wonder who they stole it from?)

But I digress. Check out this except from the verbage about the new "GI Tanto". (Direct quote, taken from: http://www.coldsteel.com/80ft.html)

"Please don’t throw away hundreds and hundreds of dollars on similar knives sold by convicted felons and rip off artists posing as elite “military operators”. Get the real G.I. Tanto from Cold Steel and get more than your money’s worth."

Hmm. Gee I wonder whom this refers to? Lynn Thompson calling someone a "rip-off artist"? Man, is that the perfect example of the pot calling the kettle black or what? Let's get Noss4 on the horn and see if he'll do a side-by side comparison for us.

This is already listed under the good the bad and the ugly thread, but thanks for bringing the ad to light for those that might have missed the original thread.

boycott cold steel, i thought they were crappy before, now ill definetly never buy one.

Are they taking a shot at Strider knives or someone else? I'm really shocked to see a comment like that thrown into a knife descripton by a major manufacturer, but I guess I shouldn'tbe surpised since it's Cold Steel.

When has he ever manufactured a knife? :D major contractor maybe, but not maker.

I gotta admit, that quote takes balls considereing he is copying someone elses knife.

Yep, Lynn Thompson and a few others tried to proclaim themselves the saviors of the Knife World. Sounds more like trying to snuff out the competition they can't beat.
