Having a really hard time choosing a belt knife. cant decide between the LTWK Genesis(Scandi) or the LTWK Gary Wines Bushcrafter.

I cant try either knife in hand before I purchase, so Im stuck going off YT reviews, specs and aesthetics.

Theres only a $4 difference between the two units Im stuck on, so it comes down to O1 versus A2, 1/8" versus 5/32", and an 1/8" in overall length.

Would love to hear to some comparisons from any folks who have used or perhaps own both. Thanks in advance for your time everyone.

No experience with the the Wines Bushcrafter. The Genesis on the other hand is a great knife. I sold mine a while back but have another coming in this week. I prefer a knife that size to be 1/8".

Since A2 seems to be used more widely across LTs range any concern that the heat treat of the A2 may be superior to that of the O1 since they do more A2 work?

A lot of their knives prior to Blind Horse splitting were O1, I wouldn't be concerned about the heat treat. I have a Genesis in scandi and flat ground, hard to go wrong with any L.T. Wright IMO.

LT works with several steels A2, 01, and D2 being some of the most used. You don't have to worry about heat treat with LT.

I should have a GNS and Genesis in the mail today (both flat) to try out.

I decided Im going to go with the Genesis. The one I want has a non standard handle that I like. If I order the GW Bushcrafter first and dont like it I may miss out on the Genesis I prefer.
If I go with the Genesis first and dont like it it shouldnt be too hard to get a black GW Bushcrafter in the future. :)

My LTWK Genesis, polished black micarta over orange liners, scandi grind. Took many weeks of reading and watching reviews to pick my first new woods knife in literally decades. So far very happy . made the shavings and a pot hook for Bush Class. Weirdly I find it more comfortable to use in my off hand...my first scandi. Weird but it seems to be working. I think a flat grind might be better for fine work but I'm liking the scandi so far. It feels BIG to me after so many years of using sub 3.5" folders, and more recently (until it walked away....) a production Hiking buddy. I feel like I may pick up a NextGen as my main woods knife if I dont get used to the size. This knife is excellent but feels slow compared to what Im used to
