Lubing the Native

Sounds kinky I guess but being a relative noob to the Spyderco universe, can someone point me the right direction? My newish Native is starting to get a little bit of a rubbing / squeaking thing going when I open or close the blade slowly. Bearing in mind I do use this for food prep (amongst other things), what - if anything - should I do about lubing it? What sort of food safe oil etc do you guys like? Where would you drop that oil for best results? Any better suggestions I should be pondering?

Help a newly hatched Spyderman out.

Clean it out good with hot soapy water. Mineral oil is food safe. put a drop or 2 in the pivot area.

I don't think I've ever lubed my Native, and that was my first real quality pocket knife. And still one of my favorites to boot. But I've found I don't really like mineral oil for the pivot, as it's quite thick. I generally would recommend a good gun lube or something. Even on a food knife, one small drop is enough. Work it in really well, wipe off the excess. And I wouldn't worry about residual lube getting on the food.... Unless you were dunking the pivot in soup or something and stirring :p Also, I always examine and wipe off my pocket knife before using on food, so you can use that time to make sure you have no oil drips....

Or just use mineral oil, as I find lubing modern pocket knife pivots doesn't matter a whole lot anyways :p. THe squeaking probably just means it needs a good cleaning.
