Lately, I have been using Miltec-1 as a lubricant for my folders (a couple old slipjoints, a sak, 710HS, and a small gerber folder); The Miltec had always seemed to work well- although one day after a bit of an experiment, I found a much more effective method of lubrication.
After using a q-tip to remove the excess Miltec-1 from the area around the pivot on a slipjoint, I put a drop of White Lightning in. After a minute of opening/closing the knife, it was much smoother than before.

I really liked the results of course, and have since done it to every knife I have. And I have acheived incredible results! On two of the old slipjoints, they each had a blade that would not snap closed, I had to push it completely closed every time (this is when lubed with only the miltec), after applying a drop of the White Lightning to each knife, they both now snap closed!

Using this method on my 710HS allows me to keep the pivot tighter, while still allowing me to flip the knife open/closed with ease.

So, If anyone knows about any harm I am doing to my knives, please do tell. But, I hope I have stumbled upon something cool!

Thanks for listening!

I assume you've used White Lightening by itself?

Let me get this straight...
The White Lightening/Miltec combo works better than either Miltec or White Lightening by themselves?

Interesting.

I don't have Miltec, but I have a bunch of other stuff including WL. Maybe I'll try mixing the WL with one of my other lubes and see what happens. Hopefully nothing will explode. ;)

i used to use white lightning but it left a film on my stuff i didnt like, went to tuff glide several yrs ago, it works great
