I should be getting my Umfaan tommorrow, I would like to know what everyone uses to lubricate your CRK's? I had a small sebenza and used wd40 and it gave the sebenza a really rough action

The best thing to use is a flourinated grease like a bicycle chain lube or better yet order some from CRK. I don't think that WD 40 would work very well.

WD-40 is designed as a drying agent. I have used RemOil, Militec1, Armalube, FP-10, Tufglide, and fluorinated grease.

They all worked very well.

I like Militec because it does not seem to attract as much debris. The downside is that you have to heat it to get it to work properly, but I use my wife's hairdryer!

As Scott says, you cannot go wrong with the grease from Reeve and the applicator makes it very easy to apply.

Just as Scott had mentioned, I ordered the fluorinated grease that CRK sales. It is specifically designed to provide top notch smoothness. Get some, you won't regret it.

Westflorida,

I use White Lightning on my Sebenza (and my bike chain!) with excellent results.

I had the best results with CRK grease. It's a bit expensive though...

But worth it, IMO. I've had my syringefull (is that a word?) for a few years now, lubed a lot of folders with it, and I still have an inch or so left in it. Probably enough for the rest of my life. I love the stuff.

Tried the white lightning on my Umfaan, works great. I willnever use wd40 on the pivot area, makes it really rough.

I've found that Tuf-Glide doesn't work too well for Sebenzas; it makes the action rough.

CRK's fluorinated grease, however, has worked well for every knife I've used it on.:)
