I know munk has a crappy drive ahead of him today. Let's all send some good thoughts his way to keep all four tires firmly planted on the icy Montana roads.

Done...with a little extra thrown if for Ed Know;) Be careful out there.

Great idea, Josh.

Fingers crossed for munk & fam's safe journey and return... smoke up too, later.

Where's he goin? I musta mizzed da thread.

Big drive to get an eye exam. I think his kids ended up staying home with mom, which probably takes a load off munk's mind. With Ed Know riding shotgun, I'm sure he'll be fine.

I just got back, and may I say; I'm too old for this. My eyes were dilated from the exam- as were my son's- two bug eyed monsters. I was going to keep the plastic dark wrap on the dash to point out to any arresting officer- Honest, Officer, my eyes were dilated by a professional- not that Josh guy."

The road was icy and people kept wanted to go 70. I slowed between 40 and 55 most the way.

We picked out Carter his first pair of glasses, and brought a gold fish home for Trav- it's his birthday tomorow. Carter and I weren't certain the fish would survive the walk to the car- that's how cold it was. Plus, I get him home, cut the end of his bag of water, and the thing slips out of my hands and hits the sink. He's in his bowl now. I told my wife not to feed him but she did anyway. I figured he needed 24 hours to get over the trauma.

We left the truck at home. I figured if it was involved in an accident it would be my fault- they'd learn it needed an alignment and to be fixed. So, I took my wife's honda civic hatchback- a 95.

I just hoped we'd walk away like Josh if it came to that.

The good news for me is the Surgeon looked at my eye and said if the bloodvessels haven't grown into the fissure by now, they probably never will. So I feel better having a cracked egg for an eyeball.

Still have to have it looked at once a year the rest of my days, just to make sure.

Good to be back.

PS- took a new Malla with me on the trip. I had to ask, just who would stop by my disabled car and harrass me when it's 20 below zero. But you know, I took it anyway.

Relief to hear you made it there and back.

With all that's happened here lately, sometimes I get anxious over nothing, or maybe more properly I don't take the folks I rely on as much for granted as I used to.

BTW- for those of you who wondered, yes, Ed Know did ride shotgun. Let me put to rest for good this notion he's somehow savvy and street wise. Everytime we slowed in a ice encrusted boulevard in some small town, like Round Up,MT., Ed would grab the Malla, pull it from the sheath, and anounce:

"Munk, Munk; wake up. You see that guy over there? There- on the sidewalk; I think he's up to no good and watching us."

The guy was huddled against the cold, staggering down the street. If he was up to no good it was probably the icecycle vomit he left behind half a block ago.

Sure Ed. But it made him happy to pull the thing out and wave it around, and Carter laughed, of course. And I had to ask myself; if someone did pull over to our disabled Honda Civic High Miler Hatchback, wouldn't the sight of Ed without a shirt and waving the Malla about send him on his way? You bet.

But I'm not taking the AK or the M1A- Ed blew it with those, and he still isn't off probation. Too bad too, cause nothing keeps the unwanted away like a the sound of the bolt going home on a 20 round mag in the M1A.

Ed just liked that sound too damn much.

Glad to hear you made it safely, munk. To tell you the truth, I was more worried about Ed than I was you. At least you didn't have to use the leeches on him this time.
