I've just acquired my second Emerson Custom, a CQC-13. I love the look of the customs and the fact that they are still built Emerson tough. I regularly carry my other custom, a Panzer, on duty as a firefighter. In fact, I carried it into a fire two days ago and it's held up great. I'm looking forward now to putting this one in my rotation.

Very nice. Something about the customs make them feel so good in the hand. The 13 is a good one to get a custom in.

0_0 that's a pretty knife! Maybe one day I'll be brave enough to spend the $ for an emerson custom ... great score!

Just a question out of curiosity, aren't all custom emerson's usually zero grind?

Some are, some aren't. The CQC-7's, Commanders, and CQC-15's are some that are full zero grinds. My Panzer and this CQC-13 are both v-ground with a chisel edge

I saw that one on sale at an online retailer recently, I was going to put it on lay away. ;) Glad I didn't, as I'm tapped out at the moment and have a new pistol purchase in my future.

7's, 6's, 5's are, 15's usually, and Commanders occasionally. I would say that more appear to not than do, can really go either way, unless on a model that the production version is chisel primary and edge, such as the Bulldog or Tanto.

Very nice, they both look awesome and sharp. Those 13's have one cool blade shape, congrats to the OP.
