My last attempt was last Sat afternoon. We hit a bad cold spell up here a week ago and the bass wuz GONE from their fall haunt. They are in deeper winter water now. :( Too bad. It was new moon and everything. The one I caught 2 weeks prior on the full-moon was my last bass of the year - nowhere near that size.

Next year - bass boat! I can't wait. I love kayaking, but it's a PITA with a bit of a breeze. Getting pulled TO the fish is sorta fun, tho. Fighting a 2lb'er or so back in August he pulled me all the way into the weedbed I was fighting him out of. Spooked off the rest of the fish. :( (OK, he pulled me half-way. While I was getting the hook out, I drifted the rest under momentum.)
 
Thanks for the complements. Kayaks can be a pain, but can get you into places boats can't. This fish was in a marsh 300 yards from the Gulf of Mexico.

That thing needed to eat a FFBM for dinner so that you could eat it for dinner!

Nice catch. Those are fun life moments.

I'm lucky to be in a good lake that a boat will do well. It's a low-draft Tracker 14' boat. Nothing fancy. It'll just allow me to stay a bit more situated. I know where the bass are in the lake, it's just a matter of staying on them. LOL
 
Nice Bass - I am hoping to get out off NJ to catch some striped bass soon. The bite is starting now :-)
 
Thats cool you let him go.

The biggest largemouth I ever caught, which was about 7lbs, I let go.

If it wasn't for hunting season right now I'd be out there fishing and this time of year is awesome for bass fishing around here.
