Boy am i ever glad that I went to the gun and knife show at the Hampton Virginia coliseum Saturday. I got to meet John Pawlowski and Paul Holloway. Paul is a super guy and was nice enough to invite me over to his shop.I got to see the knives he has kept for himself and he gave me a neat tool for marking the center of your blade edge. Paul is even going to give me his knife templates when he finds them.He has retired from making and has agreed to sell me some of his equipment at prices that would make a knife man cry.Paul is also going to show me the ropes on the weekends. And that my friends is why i am a lucky lucky dog.

knowledge like that is a lottery. and this one the gubermit does'nt take right off the top:D

In my way of thinking that`s better
than some old lottery. The money you`ll
send then it`s gone but the knowledge
keep forever.
You can come by here an rub some of
that luck on me:D

Thanks for the well wishes guys,I will pass on any usefull info as i get it. I know others have posted usefull tool descriptions such as this but here it is anyway.
Take a piece of any steel about 5 inches long and 1/2 inch wide.Braze a piece of carbide to one end that is sharpened in the horizontal plane(like you are making a chisel). Drill and tap a hole halfway on the bar. put a bolt or thumb bolt in the hole.Clamp your non carbide end to your drll press platform or any good flat surface.adjust the bolt to what looks like half of your profiled blade thickness .lay your profiled blade on the flat surface and slide it along the carbide, flip blade over and repeat. You now have your center line. Hope this helps.
