Well, I ordered my first BK11 and a nice set of BK11 micarta scales from Roger at KnifeWorks and what came in the mail?

Well, a BK11:

But instead of BK11 micarta...I got another set of BK77 micarta!! Of course, my BK2-SG wanted some attention, so she got it...she's not a chopper anyway:

Of course, I called KnifeWorks to notify them that they'd somehow read my mind about ordering some more "big Becker" slabs but that I'd still like some BK11 slabs...so I get to keep this bling for co$t! :) Love, love, love KnifeWorks...

Also, for anyone who hasn't thrown stainless hardware in, get some of those locking nuts and you won't have to worry about locktite or teflon tape or rooting around through the leaves looking for your nuts. :D

Is there a best place to purchase the hardware, or will the regular hardware store do? Are they a common size?

Knice Knife, I didn't know they came serrated.

they are a common size, you can get them at almost any hardware store.

Damn that BK5 looks excellent, I need to get one damn soon.....

10/32 x 5/8 is standard but 10/24 x 3/4 is more common at hardware stores. You'll just have to cut the screws back some.

Yeah, a government model from the Camillus days. Word is if you're super nice to Tooj he'll let one fall off a truck. Ka-Bar is making them but you have to order with a NSN I think...

Either way, the serrations are a PITA for any kind of woodwork because you inevitably slide into them...overall though it's one hell of a camping knife.

Thanks for helping with the stainless hardware answers, I love this place!
