Here she is,
A gift I made for someone that likes cooking. I really wanted to work with Yasuki paper white as I'd managed to snag a small strip, I was worried my rookie skills wouldn't be enough to pull off a hamon and so I appealed to Stacey E. Apelt in the forums for advice and he delivered with some great advice.
I'm really pleased with it, but at a lazy 1200 finish and not much time to practise finger polishing, I feel like I could have gotten more out of it.
It's 10 inches of Yasuki paper white clayed hamon, it seems more like a yanagiba to me but it's double bevelled so perhaps more of a gyuto. Handle is homemade stabilised and resin cast spruce cone with myrtlewood and vulcanfibre spacers.
I get my etcher this month, already got my stencil from blue lightning, can't wait! At some point I'd like to ask you guys what a reasonable price for one of my knives might be. I'd love to sell the odd one but I'm not even sure where to start.
Thanks for looking.
